Gotta Get Out!!

We have officially been in St. George for a year on Sept 8th. Kent does pretty good MOST of the time. It has been an adjustment to be in the middle of a neighborhood instead of in the middle of a feild! He has kept himself busy with lots of different projects and some golf. He is always finding someone to serve or help. Friday seemed to be a breaking point. He had to be GONE! Just get in the car and drive. I'm sure it is his internal clock that is saying it is time to be busy harvesting something!
So we got out the map and decided on a road trip. Southern Utah is a vacation just waiting to happen. We drove up the highway and ended up going to Loa where his Grandparents are buried. His grandfather was also a lover of fishing and so he wanted his picture taken with his fishing pole. He did a little drive by fishing. We saw some beautiful country and Bryce canyon was off the charts. We ended with a drive through Zions and some veiwing of wildlife.
Back in time for church. The laundry didn't get done but sometimes you just GOTTA GET OUT!!

Advice #1-- Never visit the oregon coast if you live where it is 115 degrees outside

Why you may ask?? Because it makes it twice as hot when you get back!!. I'm sure it is all just in an old womans head, but when you come back from ocean breezes, sand, family, grandkids, beautiful scenery and flowers it seems like the hot, red dirt of the desert is just HOTTER! I know that in 4-6 weeks when we are enjoying the perfect fall weather I will regret my whinny attitude.
It was a great time had by all. Thank you for a great time guys. You are the BBBBEEEEEESSSSTTTT!!

Can you say... tttooo much FUN!!

Is it possible to have ttttooo much fun?? Our month started out with a trip to Pheonix to bless Mandy and Cams baby, Charlie Kate. Isn't she a cutie! Her Great G-ma and G-pa came all the way from Rupert to see her. That is true love!
Then we caravaned back to St. George with Mand and the kids, picking Katie up in Vegas on the way. Niki, Cole and Brian, Cris, Mathis and his friend Meagan all came down for a long weekend. We cooked, ate, played pickle ball, swam and hiked until we couldn't fit any more fun in!!!
Everyone but Mand, Nik and kids have gone home. (They are killing time until their hubbies are home from their scout hikes.) We have all four crazy kids here and we are trying to think up the next FUN thing to do!! Any suggestions???

It's coming right along!

The remodel is coming right along. Last night I was finally able to get down and scrub the floor so that we could walk around without shoes for the first time in weeks!
I love how the tin ceiling turned out. I have always wanted one. That corner in the picture was a bugger to get right. I think three tiles got ruined in the process.
I can't believe how much room there is now that we moved the sink to the window and took out the fireplace wall.

I'm kinda sad that Jakey didn't make it here before they put the hand rail down the stairs. It would have made a great jumping off point!!
The kids will all be here the weekend of the 12th. It will be so nice to have it all done and be able to relax together!
A couple of outlets, my backsplash, a set of curtians and the pendant lighting and we will be done!! (for this round anyway:)

We are sooo excited!!!!

We are so excited for Katie and Benny's baby!!! Is it totally wrong to hope for a girl so that I can use this, cute as all heck fabric, that I could not leave the store without?? Maybe my tearing things down addiction is not the only one I have:)!!??

Why do I do this to myself?????

The whole remodel process is a crazy mess. I know this, but I just keep doing it!!!! Does that make me some kind of addict!? Could I be hooked on ripping things down? Where do I go for HELP?

Have I been gone that long??

I wanted to see if I can really do this blogging thing without help from someone younger than me!
